New Cascadia Window Regulator Motor Stop Working

FTL New Cascadia

Symptoms

Window Regulator Motor Stop Working or Operates Intermittently in Driver Side / Passenger Side or both sides.

Issue

The window regulators motors are not designed to be run continuously. The window regulator motors have a thermal cutoff. If they are run long enough, there will eventually be an open circuit and get a fault code. It would stop all the way up or all the way down and cause one or both codes:
DCMP (SA 237)SPN 520256 FMI 5: Window Lift Motor Open Load – Current Below Normal or Open Circuit
DCMD (SA 236) SPN 520256 FMI 5: Window Lift Motor Open Load – Current Below Normal or Open Circuit

Solution:

Cycling the ignition switch resets the modules and resolves the issue.

If issue reoccurs even in shorter operation times, the Window Regulator Motor could be damaged and needs to be replaced.
