Freightliner M2 Plus Fault Code 232/524000/19- ECU CPC data error

This Solution applies to M2 Plus vehicles built with a Cummins engine and Detroit Assurance.

Symptoms

Under certain driving conditions the fault code  232/524000/19- ECU CPC data error can come active intermittently.

Issue

There is a known issue with Fault code 232/524000/19 ECU CPC data error associated with M2+ vehicles supplied with a Cummins engine and Detroit Assurance.  At low speed when a directional change is made, and the vehicle is not at a complete stop or rolling in neutral, this fault code can be generated momentarily, due to a lack of confidence in the drive direction. Unless the fault persists during normal driving conditions, the system is considered to be operating as expected.

Solution

When encountering this code 232/524000/19 as stated in the issue field, the code should be considered normal and no troubleshooting needs to be performed.  The code will only show up  active very briefly, typically during a directional change.  This may be most noticeable when a vehicle is in a tight turn around areas needing to make multiple start / stop directional changes in order to complete a turn.
