Symptoms

Active CPC fault code 3696/13

Issue

CPC fault code 3696/13 is defined as follows:

Diesel Particulate Filter Regen Force MUX Switch Message Contains SNV Indicator

Signal not available on the CPC DPF switch source address

Solution

Follow the troubleshooting for fault code 3696/13 in PSL.  If you end up at the step that says "contact the chassis OEM for appropriate parameter settings" in the PSL troubleshooting, do the following:

In Diagnosticlink, select Instrumentation, then select the "MSF Subbus Switches" panel (see below).

Check if the ATD Regen Switch is missing (if missing, it will be highlighted blue).  A missing ATD regen switch will cause CPC fault 3696/13.  If the ATD regen switch is missing (or additional switches are missing), troubleshoot and repair as necessary.  Possible causes for missing MSF switches include the following: unplugged MSF slave jumpers, faulty MSF slave jumpers, faulty MSF switches, faulty MSF slave, or faulty MSF.
