Cascadia with Cummins Engines (CM2350)

Issue

Customer wants to be able to idle up the engine when parked using the cruise control set/resume switch.

Solution

The following will outline how to set up the parameters in Cummins INSITE in order to enable this feature.

(1) Find the "Adjustable Low Idle Speed" folder and expand it (see below)

(2) Set the "Adjustable Low Idle Speed" to Enable

(3) Set the "Low Idle Speed" to the base idle (e.g. 650 RPM)

(4) Set the "Low Idle Speed Additional Settings" to Enable

(5) Set the "Step Size" to the desired idle increment (e.g. 50 RPM)

(6) Set the "Low Idle Speed Adjustment Switch" to Enable

(7) Find the "SAE J1939 Multiplexing" folder and expand it.  Under this folder, locate the "Idle Increment/Idle Decrement Switch" parameter and set it to Enable (see below)

(8) Set the Source Address to "49 - Cab Controller"

(9) Send the parameters to the ECM (follow instructions within INSITE).

(10) In the INSITE data logger, monitor the "Low Idle Adjustment Switch" and make sure that INSITE sees a change of state when the switch is toggled (see below)

(11) Verify the engine can be idled up using the set/resume switch.
